Frank Zappa - "Dancin' Fool" ☺
"Disco Duck" would be good.
Are you sure?
Norrie.I will pay good money to see you dance to "Once in a Lifetime" and "Electricity" on the 24th.I will pay for your Man Utd season ticket for the next 5 years to see you dance to "Double Dutch"!!Dance anthems......
I think he meant me.
I reserve the right to be unable to dance to any tune available....
Dance anthems .. so what happened to Ladies Night?Guess anythings better than the theme that usually accompanies results day and the Snr Producers tail of cheating >8-0
SQA results are like the Olympics, the more they do it the better the results. Every child receives a prize. Everybody goes to university. Everybody ends up unemployed/unemployable.
Glen will we be seeing you on the 24th??
I'd like to be there but I'll be in Berlin.
Ich bin ein Berliner
Apparently GOLF will be a designated Olympic sport in 2016Oor Adam must wield enormous influence. And in Portugese!>8-D
The problem is that we dont have a suitable course. We're supposed to constructing a new one but the ownership of the land to be used is in dispute. The course is to become a public one after 2016.......aye, right.
Get Trump along he can make one.....
Windmills of Your Mind
They were thinking about bowling but the life expectancy of the players is less than the duration of the Olympics.
and Darts .. now when was the last time I had three in the bed?
NINETEEN HUNDRED and EIGHTY!>8-D
You can almost smell his Brut.
I'll have you both know Blue Stratos was my cologne of choice back then!
Tell me this and tell me no more......why do Brazilian lassies have BRA printed on their bras?
Never mind that.I was thinking last night that if an Olympic event was somebody shouting out random themes to which competitors had to react with lists of appropriate songs it would be Sir Patrick McCafferty and Dame Julie Ross by now.
Lord McCafferty surely? Harsh on Julie though, at least the requests are less obvious than most.
Thanks for the vote from the Rio jury, I had expected to be disqualified, Victoria Pendleton style, for breaching the "no more than 4 songs" rule...
I wasnt being critical of JR, Billy. She scores double points for her imagination. No Four Tops in the Olympics, Patrick.
I'm told the theme for the Closing Ceremony is A Symphony of British Music - which is fine - but then I hear Blur, Spice Girls and Take That are going to be on!I'm not against them per se, but as far as I know they're pretty unknown around the world so why use them? (NBC cut the Artic Monkeys from the Opening Ceremony because nobody knew who they were) We've got loads of global stars we could use - Rolling Stones, Floyd, Adele, Leo etc. So use them. Fly the flag!Besides, there's not enough Leo Sayer at closing ceremonies.
Can he sing Over The Hills And Far Away?
Mozz should get in on this gig.

Scotch, it's a good job that Assyria doesn't exist anymore ☺
There's always Bosnia
I always cheer on Madagascar & Macedonia
Is it just me or is Usain Bolt (come to think about .. nearly all the dudes who compete in the 100 & 200 mtrs) irritating? For the love of Christ .. stand still, keep your hands by your side & avoid talking like a Gangsta!
Do we have any new sports for the commonwealth games 2014. The Slosh? Chap door run away? Kiss cuddle or torture? Dominoes?
Any regular listeners to Off the Ball will be familiar with the concept of Touch the Dug's ErseSo, 2 hours of Soul Classics the nicht? We'll see...
Punching Phil Jones (marks for style, method and severity)."You've wasted four years of your life by coming in last - how do you feel?"
Bools .. but nae steelies!
Phil Jones has been getting on my goat as well. How many more variations of "what about that crowd" can he come up with....
Morning y'all, might just get the garden furniture out for the second time this year.
Have a barbecue, invite round your pals in the Hells Angels.
You wait till the Mother In Law reads this... reckon we'd make Elgin in three hours if I take the Norton Commando!
I've burnt my inside leg once too often before to fall for that one again ;-)
I hear Macca's being wheeled out again tonight. If he was a horse he would be put down.
Shurely no!I heard the Who are on and everything has been pre-recorded.I presume that Macca was too then at the Opening thus the kefuffle at the start. Will watch the CC before heading to the airport. Next time I write I'll be in Inverkip.
Macca would have been fine if he'd been pre-recorded in 1963.Next time I write I'll be in Invermental.
You've Got To Hide Your Love Away
What did you think of the closing ceremony?
I can't put it any better than this guy does
Always Look On The Bright Side Of Life ;-(
Nick Mason sent a personal message to Gilmour: "Wish you were here"........I went to my bed after that so unfortunately missed the Spice Thats
Please warn us in future when you provide links to bad language, Gaie. There are sailors blushing.
sorry, Glen, forgot to put on the explicit sticker.
"I'm Popeye the Sailor man,I clicked on Gaie Broon's link andNow Olive is giddy, and Oi've got a riddy,I'm Popeye the Sailor man!"
The closing ceremony could have been the best most memorable in olympic history if only the taxis had all simultaneously done an emergency stop.
BTW Marydoll and Willie Bartke the genius, not often of this parish these days, have confirmed for the 24th.
Good news! Hoo many is that?
About a dozen mibbe
Given AfR visits Inverkip I'd have thought Millport was now a goer!
Would certainly have been a day for it today.
Was a chocolate slider on the menu?
Looked in at the Waterfront today but didnt see you Gaie.
You could've come up to Bishy for your lunch
nivver mind gourock............there's a posh lido in arundelcheers frae arundel lido
there's a nice lido at the Serpentine where I had my tea before going to see Tom Petty in person. Wouldn't have fancied swimming 10k in yon manky water though. Or even 1k, which would be about my limit.
Welcome home Adam .. It'd have been great to catch-up @ long last but I'm in Ullapool this weekend from Friday & like I've already said got a colleague's leaving night on the 24th.
I was in Largs today for a cruise on The Waverley. You should post your itinerary in the morning. A friend of mine who visits Brazil regularly suggests that crime is a problem.
Why should he feel the need to regularly suggest this?
For the same reason that you split your infinitives.
I was on the folly when The Waverly went by. My brother told me its name. If only Id known Id have waved.
Ships that pass in the..........
An eerie mist has descended upon the East Neuk o Fife this morning. Adam is heading home. Are these linked? We should be telt....

The volunteers got a huge cheer at the closing ceremony - remember to hand back your uniform.
the volunteers got the loudest and longest cheer...........there are noises about a medal from the government........of lining the mall for the procession of champions after the paras and who knows mibbbe even a knighthood for those volunteer(s) who endured 11 weeks in a caravan with a jack russell.....but the greatest acclaim was getting 'queen' played earlier this week on GIO woo hoo.....ha ha eat yer hearts outcheers from a day off going to gilbert white's house
Unfamiliar with Gilbert White. Is he a friend of Jack Russell?
I fear his iPad predictive text took overWhat he meant to say was that Dave go Girl's shitehouse
What a pity your father couldn't afford the Swiss finishing school.
For those whose emails I don't have, priority munchies seating has been booked for fri in the Hard Rock Cafe Edinburgh for 8pm. So suggest meeting for prefrivolity drinks in the bar 7-8pm. Those that have said they are coming are Adam, Scotch Gaie Henri, norrie, Frank, billy, Marydoll, willie Bartke the genius, myself and Imelda. Julie is coming for drinks later. All welcome,m let me know if I have inadvertently missed you as I'm getting old and decrepit.
I probably won't get in time for food. Not sure what time I'm finishing work, and I wasn't so impressed with their menu last time.
Was that you juggling on stilts on the Royal Mile Friday night?
Izzat a euphonium? It might have been Senga jiggling on heels...
RIP Scott McKenzie who in the end never made it to San Francisco
Funeral arrangements to be announced. (No flowers).
Another one outlived by Henri Hannah. His recent radio silence has been an unexpected pleasure.
