now who's being silly, Billy? :0)
And welcome back, Norrie. Hope your trip was as good as you would have hoped it would be.
How rude of me. Good to have you back Norrie!!
Was it Las Vegas again Norrie? You missed yersel when you wis away! Scotland got beat at the rugby and the same themes are repeated on the wireless!
Och come on, keep up. He crossed the world to see Broooooce. And it rendered him speechless.
Thanks folks. Trip was utterly fantastic and best Springsteen gig in a long time, very luck with the set list. Lots of catching up to do with work and stuff... Vegas for Thanksgiving DC and yes the more things change the more they stay the same!
What lost treasures has everyone unearthed for tonight?
"That would be good but..."
there's not nearly enough Gong on the radio.
I've only heard them once on GIO. A song that nobody had requested strangely enough!
Tom Morton played some Gong a few months back..I keep asking for some Jackie Leven, one day, perhaps.. Although it fits tonights topic quite well..
Better luck next time Pete!
Who's Pete?Whats on tonight?
Mr anonymous above. He turned up a few months ago then disappeared. Reminiscing is the theme tonight I think.
Ah, Stinky Pete!(How did u know?)Reminiscing?"Listening to Sounds of the 80s" by Adam from Rio
I paid attention to what he posted before (;-)
Adam, not Bobby Goldsboro then?
I've asked for There Will Be Fireworks. Hahahahhahhahhahhahhahahhahhahhaaaaahey, Billy, forgot to tell you, Kevin McDermott was in our school on Monday working with p6 on the Absent Voices art/music/whatever project (it's to do with the sugarsheds)
Was he dressed up as Tate, Lyle or Cube?
unrefined in Mother Nature's Kitchen
Great choice Gaie. Sounds like an interesting project.
It is, Billy, several interesting people are involved and it seems to be reaching far into the community. The sugarsheds were used for live music at the Tall Ships and the vague (I think it may be very vague) idea is that they should be transformed into art space (a mini Tate) and possibly a music venue too. Maybe - I doubt if there's money available, with Riverside Inverclyde under close scrutiny now. The spin-off just now is very enjoyable however!
I was there for the Tall Ships.
"The boy stood on the burning deck his... " Whurs the Git he knows how to finish it!

Aye whur is the cantankerous git?Whoops, sorry Scotch.

Bright Eyes Jx
Wook! Wabbit twacks...
Yep, Julie - you a fan?
Not really listened to much. Think Catriona quite likes him though Jx
Yes Conor Oberst is excellent.I think I might be away then need to check. But I would recommend that gig.

The droogs don't work
Ah Glen, yer back. Just in time coz I'll be intermittent over the next few weeks so you can take charge.
Have you tried the pads?
Emb'dy oot therr intae quizzes?A little bit of this and a little bit of that.
Julie 'll do them, she's a whizz at Only Connect and University Challenge.
I can think of an awful lot of songs that make GIO feel uneasy, in fact I could do a list of McCafferty proportions. But there's a rainbow outside, maybe I'll go chase it instead.
Why then oh why can't I?
I blame the negativity of those Better Together types.
We believed we'd catch the rainbowRide the wind to the sunAnd sail away on ships of wonderBut life's not a wheelWith chains made of steelSo bless me, oh bless me, bless meCome the dawnAh Ronnie James, you and your whips and chains.
Donovan caught the wind. Luckily he lived alone.

Not bad at all.

I see someone's requested the Beach Boys' classic Wooden Tit - Be Nice.
Was it Ms Barbara Tan?
Whurs oor Billy?
OK Fifers...what's a good easy to moderate walk to go on in your neck of the woods? Jx
Kingdom of Fife. 40 Coast and Country Walks (Pocket Mountains)Check it out.
I'm back. Did I miss anything exciting?
Yup... on black magic night we got Wall of Voodoo on.... only kidding. This morning BB ran so fast on MacAulay's show he forgot how to add up.
Hey Jx, how long a walk you up fer? If it's the coastal walk, there's great wee stretches of anything fae a couple o miles tae, well, right round the kingdom!Try Elie tae Anster at about 5 miles and finish wi a fish supper. Or even better, Crail tae Anster passin Caiplie Coves and intae Cellardyke (pint at the Haven) then a mile onwards tae..... A fish supperLoads o walks!
(Don't forget yer fish supper)Salt an tammatty sauce by the way
TOMATO SAUCE! No thanks...that's OK for chips at home or whatever but I'd take my own wee bottle of chippie sauce if need be. Thanks for the suggestions though. Thought I might be going walking in Fife tomorrow but I'll be getting ready for a wee trip to stay with my sister in John O'Groats instead. Great wee walk to Duncansby Stacks in the offing...and lots of others. I'll definitely try one of your suggested walks once I'm back home. Jx
(Shudder runs down spine......)You would take yer own accompaniment tae Andrew Fairlie at Gleneagles?Mebbes a thought though, mind me tae tell the lawd at the front door o Embry Cassle that his rock needs mair sugar
Pure check oot next Friday's theme, man!Jeezo................
Partan time -Rockstar
Prime I Scream - Country Girl
MONDAY One for Gaie...
Aw, Scotch, fancy you remembering that. Just checked tonight's playlist for an alleged trip around the world. Trailing away to Leith and down to Newcastle, Liverpool and London while carelessly avoiding Africa. How parochially typical of GIO. I'll be making mince next Friday. That should go with anything on their playlist.
I'll be eating humble pie followed by sour grapes.
Don't forget the chip on your shoulder, or I'll eat my hat!
Emdy downloaded the latest George Ezra EP?Propur trait! (As we say in the civilised pairt o the country)
I'm too busy trying to acquire the taste for Conor Oberst's flaky voice in the hopes that it'll seem worth £25 come July. Either that or he gets struck down by a 24 hour virus leaving Dawes to fill the night. Norrie, were you havin' a laff or is a boy thing, like Neil Young and Bob Dylan?
You can leave after Dawes or have some fun by heckling Oberst and being ejected.
Southern men don't need him around. Anyhow...
genius idea, the heckling, Glen. I've never been thrown out of a gig. Definitely time.
Definaytly time for the new George Ezra EP GaieJust sayin.....
Glen, are you suggesting that Gaie leaves early Dawes?
What she Dawes is her own business
Ezra no others jokes in your repertoires?
I have Dawes-ens of other jokes.
that's a shocker, Adam
but what youse have all left is
DC, that George Ezra beats Conor hands down. Quite a voice from a wee slip of a boy.
