"Sex standing up is forbidden, lest it lead to dancing!" The Wee Frees
Standing at the urinal is the correct way.The Wee Wees
I wondered what yes dancing was. Thanks for the enlightenment, SG.
A good show tonight with an interesting variety of music which left me with my toe tapping and my lips smiling. What more can you ask?
No way ya big sugar plum fairy ;-)
Ask yersel.. What came first, the music or the misery? Did I listen to music because I was miserable? Or was I miserable because I listened to music?Nick Hornby / high fidelity
F..k it! I've been on busier vote YES blogs & that's not particularly pleasant. Whurs everybody?
Aye, still here
I believe they're conscripting labour in Brazil to complete the outstanding work. I hope Adam's OK.
After Norrie's visit we're back on track! The man's a dab hand wi the JCB and dumper truck.
I was in Millport on Friday - where were you lot? Oh, OK, Big Eck, you were mountaineering (and so was I, up the Farland Hills) .Adam, your wee rhyme doesn't. Get to it, DC.
I've never been to Millport but I've gazed longingly at it from Largs. No, I'm lying. We called in in 2012 on the Waverley but didn't set foot ashore. They were very friendly and met us with a pipe band.
Spent the Easter of 1982 there, where I was introduced to the wonders of hair mousse.
Friday I was in a wee place called Buzios, north of Rio. A once favourite haunt of Bridget Bardot.
but she took a look at your hair mousse and was never seen there again
You can listen to Millport on Radio 4 Extra on Friday and Saturday. Jx
hmmm, is that the one they ran on 4 some years ago?
Yes it's old but it still makes me chuckle Jx
A bit like Glen (;-)
I may be old but it's better than the alternative.

Brilliant! On the East coast, where the population is sparse, we bide in detached hooses. So the neeburs hae tae play music awfy loud tae hear.Wast coast biasAgain...
DC's so posh he's never heard of Dundee
....and their but an ben?Jings!
The only time I've heard music coming through the walls was, unsurprisingly, in student halls, yes in the East, and it put me off Leonard Cohen for life. A German girl who took up guitar and practised for hours and hours, each painful note of Suzanne audible in my room next door. Perhaps I'll ask for it and the listeners can suffer too. I'll be out of earshot.
At least she wasn't invading Poland.
she was invading my earspace and that's nearly as bad.
Looking through a book in the library today I noticed that I saw The Who at Strathclyde on 25 April 1969, the first time they played Tommy live. 45 years ago and there are commemorations of The Beatles on Ed Sullivan which was 50 years ago. What other popular music has lasted so long? The good news is that all your recordings of BBC broadcasts are now out of copyright.
Does it matter if music lasts? Or is it OK to be constantly evolving and of its time but not necessarily to be listened to in 10 years' time? As everyone wearily knows I love a lot of music that's around at the moment - I don't care if no-one wants to listen to it in 2024, it excites me and gives me huge pleasure right now and that's enough. I remember listening to loads of albums on constant repeat for months then never listening to them again. I don't see it as a problem other than that it takes a bit more time to seek out the new.

don't shoot me, I didn't mean a word of it
It's only rock'n'roll. I was disappointed Chris Spedding cancelled his gig in a pub in Paisley - always too good to be true, but the Beer Festival was its usual success and, as far as I know, the only time the Town Hall is used.
.........no the town hall was used for a free paula nutini bbc 2 gig a couple of years ago.....i put my tickets on e-bay goom.....cheers frae the dale
