Enjoy yourself Norrie. A fair weather golfer then?
I'm not that great, but I can complete a round in less than 10 days.
You said it... why did Norgon leave you in charge?Strangler's "Enough Time" contains a morse code message spelling out 'Mother Earth we are fucked!
Norrie's hardly out the door and the swearing's already started.

mNEXT FRIDAYRandy Scouse Git - The Monkees
I dont believe they played Hold Me Now!But probably the biggest disappointment of the day was the non-appearance on a Friday of the Liquid Entertainer.Mind you the lad Doig did his best as a late substitute. He must have been on Norrie's course this last week. Top marks too by the looks of it. He's well changed his tune.
Saw this band in Aberdeen on Friday. Can't remember their name.
Is it the Waddy????
Yes, I think that was the name - rock'n'roll revival, something about The Moon Of Love.
Moon... that's only 3 steps to heaven surely.
FFS Art is dying at the Palladium
Didn't he just, and yet someone told me the other day that Art was one of the 'oldies' who could still sing as well as in his heyday! Jx

Disappointingly predictable for the most part over on the Darkside today.

And it's as good now as it was then.
Punch Bros. & JD McPherson at Celtic Connections
That sounds great Glen. Great enough for me to go off on one of my depressions about how Edinburgh has such a dearth of venues used for music. Would turn me to drink if I hadn't signed up for Sober October which, by the way, you could all donate towards if you're feeling charitable...make all my tearful traipses through the wine aisles worth it... I'm the Midlothian Julie Ross http://www.gosober.org.uk/our-community/search-results?keyword=julie%20ross

Just heard - new Annie Lennox album out - don't panic.
Just think: by getting a free download from U2 you could have enough pocket money left over to buy this and your ipod would be safe from ever being stolen.
Went to Paisley Abbey on Friday for the concert with Roddy Hart & the Lonesome Fire, and King Creosote, both along with the RSNO. It was a great evening - I'm not a huge fan of either Roddy's voice or King Creosote's, but they were both superb, as of course was the orchestra. The acoustics were glorious - I thought - always nervous about making that kind of comment in case there's anyone listening that knows a bit about sound reproduction, which I don't, but I don't think I've ever heard better. I wonder if there was less amplification than in a normal gig venue - all was very clear anyhow and the singers were spot on. The setting was pretty special and the highlight of the night was King Creosote singing Cod Liver Oil and the Orange Juice along with rollicking orchestral accompaniment. Paisley Abbey's never seen the likes!
John Knox is doing 1000 rpm.
it'll keep the kirk session meetings going for months
I don't know what's wrong with the Town Hall. They spent a fortune refurbishing it and it's only used for the Beer Festival (by old men with pony tails).
I wouldn't know about that. Are they the guys who frequent the Apollo facebook page, endlessly lamenting its demise?
Nostalgia isn't what it used to be. I presume you've seen this.
Ha! I was at that gig that photo was taken!Shame the Apollo isnt there anymore.
I was only in the Apollo a handful of times and such a concert-going novice that anywhere would've been wildly exciting so I can't truthfully add to the nostalgic ramblings. I saw the Stones, Kevin Ayers, Moody Blues (why?) and - well obviously we say, 'the Quo, man'. They were the last and it certainly felt like the balcony could come down any time. But I can't say I miss it, what with all the wealth of venues we have now, not all good certainly, but some imaginative and some unique, like Barrowlands. I suppose if that went I'd feel the same as the Apollo stalwarts do.
There is a piece on the Beeb website about unlikely covers.Ever heard this original?https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5aLNwOxPsjg
